AUG 30: Ribbon Cutting @ Power & Light

Join Blade & Timber as the team chops the big red ribbon to mark the grand opening of our NEW Power & Light location. Enjoy free axe throwing, waffles and coffee. The first 70 guests receive a FREE Blade & Timber swag item. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes if you plan to throw some axes! No reservation necessary during the ribbon cutting. 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 8:30AM – 10:30AM

Blade & Timber will provide parking validations to all guests who park in a Power & Light parking garage. From 6 a.m. – 5 p.m., you will receive three hours of free parking, with $4/hour charged after your first three hours.

Sep 25: Cole Broockerd Fundraiser @ Lawrence Location

On Wednesday, September 25, we’re donating 50% of axe throwing sales from Blade & Timber’s Lawrence location to support Cole Broockerd, a local Lawrence firefighter.

ABOUT COLE:

Cole Broockerd has been a firefighter/paramedic with LDCFM for 2 years and in the EMS field for 5 years. In April of this year, Cole was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the colon and liver. He is optimistic and has been fighting hard to beat this.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
  1. Book an axe throwing lane online at Blade & Timber in Lawrence on Wednesday, September 25 anytime from 3pm to 10pm. Blade & Timber will donate all axe throwing sales from the day to Cole’s fight.
  2. Buy a raffle ticket! Cole’s friends and family will also be raffling off tickets for donated gifts from local Lawrence businesses from 5pm to 8pm at Blade & Timber.

First responders have always been near and dear to the Blade & Timber axe throwing team. Before opening Blade & Timber, co-founder Ryan Henrich served his community as a firefighter with the Lenexa Fire Department.

APRIL 25 - BLADES FOR GLORY TOURNAMENT

Join us for the annual Blade & Timber Blades for Glory Axe Throwing tournament: a friendly competition between police and firefighters for good. Proceeds from the tournament benefit KC Guns ‘N Hoses Benefit Ride, serving the families of individuals who protect us: Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, Paramedics and EMT’s.

Teams of two first responders will face off to win bragging rights, a trophy axe and two free axe throwing lanes!


LOCATION:

Schedule:

5:00 p.m. – Check-in Begins
5:30 p.m. – Warm-ups Begin
6:00 p.m. – Tournament Begins
8:30 p.m. – Winner Crowned

TICKETS:

$20/participant – First Responders only*
*Teams of two – Must have a teammate to compete
Spectators welcome – Recommended $5 donation @ the door

 

This tournament is for first responders. Only competing first responders should purchase a ticket.

APRIL 13 - Throw Like A G.I.R.L.

Join us for Seattle’s FIRST “Throw Like a G.I.R.L.” event to celebrate Blade & Timber’s partnership with Girl Scouts of Western Washington. The morning at Blade & Timber will give all Girl Scouts the opportunity to learn how to throw axes from our safety-certified axe coaches. 

Girl Scouts and their families are invited to this private event; Girl Scout Cadettes – Ambassadors and family members age 10+ encouraged to throw. This is a ticketed event; ALL guests must register in advance online. 

As an Adventure Partner, Blade & Timber provides safe and educational axe throwing for Girl Scouts to throw like a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader). Through April, Blade & Timber will donate 10% of proceeds from our limited edition “Throw Like A Girl” Shirt to Girl Scouts.

On March 5, join us for our first “Throw Like a G.I.R.L.” event to celebrate Girl Scouts’ birthday. The evening at Blade & Timber Town Center includes a Q&A with Kansas City entrepreneurs, treats and axe throwing. Girl Scouts and their families are invited to this special event; Girl Scout Juniors-Ambassadors are permitted to throw. Family members age 10+ permitted to throw.

FEB 24 - WINTER AXE GAMES TOURNAMENT

Escape winter weather and compete blade-to-blade for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes and the title of 2019 Winter Axe Games Champion. Only one axe master will be left standing in our axe throwing tournament.

Axe slingers of all skill levels and experience are welcome!

Sign up today and start practicing your axe throwing! Spectators and cheering squads welcome! Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Participant entry fee includes 30 minutes of free throw/practicing from 5:30pm to 6:00pm before the tournament starts.

JAN 24 - CHOOSE THE WRENCH FUNDRAISER

BENEFIT FOR LT. MIKE WELLS & FAMILY

On Thursday, January 24, we’re donating 100% of all sales from Blade & Timber Kansas City locations to support Fire Lieutenant Mike Wells and his family.

ABOUT LT. MIKE WELLS

Lt. Mike Wells is a 13-year veteran of the Lenexa Fire Department. He has three beautiful children with his wife, Katie. Mike is facing an incredibly difficult diagnosis of Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer with the help of his doctors, family, friends, and brothers and sisters at the Lenexa Fire Department. Mike’s fighting mantra “Choose the Wrench” in this chapter of his life comes from the movie Good Will Hunting and is about not giving up despite overwhelming odds. Mike is strong, but the financial burden that his family is about to face is going to make the fighting and healing process that much more difficult.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Book an axe throwing lane online at either Blade & Timber Kansas City location for Thursday, January 24, 5:00 p.m. – close. Blade & Timber will donate all sales from the evening to Mike’s fight. Can’t make it to Blade & Timber on January 24? Stop by, purchase a gift card and we’ll donate 30% of all gift card sales to Mike through Sunday, January 27. Donate directly to Mike’s fight by sending donations via PayPal or Venmo to mikewellsdonations@gmail.com. First responders have always been near and dear to the Blade & Timber axe throwing team.
